After 10 years of dreaming, plotting, and planning, Amy is ready to introduce Isabella Gourmet Foods to the Santa Barbara community, and couldn’t be more pleased with the final location at 5 E Figueroa St in La Arcada Court, just a quarter block off State St. This month is all about getting the logistics of the space squared away: Securing permits, contacting vendors, designing the space, and getting the word out that the arrival is near! This past weekend also saw the launch of the Isabella Gourmet Foods’ fundraising Indiegogo Campaign, which offers “perks” in return for contributions to the start-up costs of the shop. One of the most exciting aspects of the shop space, in addition to the location, is the mezzanine level of the shop, which will serve as a second location for Isabella Massage & Nutrition Services. In this loft space, Amy and her team will continue to offer massage appointments and nutrition consults, as well as workshops, lectures, seminars, and demos on food and nutrition-related topics.
New vendors are coming onboard everyday and Amy couldn’t more pleased with the quality of their products and the sustainable, local focus of their mission statements. From Freezer Monkeys dessert bars out of Ventura and Salt Water Taffy from Cape Cod to Salt and Sugar Creamery sorbets and Pacific Pickle Works out of Santa Barbara, the specialty items that will be adorning the shelves of Isabella Gourmet Foods are thoughtfully chosen for their flavor, whole food ingredients, and small-batch production.
